Treworgy Yachts was founded in 1979 by boatbuilder Mark Treworgy, ...one of the finest builders of custom boats in the U.S. He is currently building a replica of Baby Bootlegger, one of the most well-known classic wooden boats of its era. He is most known for his Coast Guard certified passenger carrying vessels such as "Inland Seas" and "Alliance" to name a few.
Treworgy Custom Boats was sold in 2001 allowing Mark the freedom to build several, one-of a kind vessels his wife Toni and him designed. The couple are now residing in Georgia, the site of Mark's most recent endeavor "Miss B Haven". This 30' wooden replica of "Baby Bootlegger" is currently under construction with an expected completion date of late, 2024.
Custom boatbuilder Mark Treworgy practically grew up on the water. His family owned several cabins on Sebec Lake in Maine and were often seen enjoying the summer breezes in their luxury Chris Craft. In his 20's, Mark worked at South Street Seaport in New York City where he helped restore the AMBROSE LIGHTSHIP, the WAVERTREE and the LETTI G HOWARD. He loves the lines of most classic wooden boats and has been building custom boats including replica "Baby Bootlegger" ever since.
"Miss B Haven" was built
utilizing the epoxy and cold-molded construction method used in many custom boats and a number of classic wooden boats.
To give strength to the vessel's bottom, Mark Treworgy of Treworgy Custom Boats has laid numerous layers of fiberglass to Miss B Haven's hull.
Surely to be one of the most notable classic wooden boats, "Miss B Haven's" 5.3 L, 355 hp, marinized, GM small block engine was recently lowered into her dedicated engine compartment
